Last Friday, The Ports played and hosted 'South City: Unplugged', supported by Louis Garrett and Steve Jackson from Atlas Rivers. This debuted the beginning of upcoming events at theSouth City bar.
Steve Jackson opened the evening with a charasmatic performance of his own songs, which will be played on their upcoming October tour around the UK. Our intimate venue space provides a chamber concert- feel, complete with sunset hues and amber lighting.
Next to play was Louis Garratt, who played a range of his own tunes, and Paraym originals, including their latest single, 'Knight in Shining Armour'. The indie anthems scored an enthusiastic reception, as the room filled up in our cosy bar space.
Last, The Ports provided an 'unplugged' performance, by which the band adapted to the intimate venue sucessfully, with audience members filling the last few seated spaces. With the venue full, the band played a collection of songs from their recent headline gig at The Eagle Inn earlier this month. The night felt full and fulfilled, as all four band members took the stage to complete the event.
Accompanied by a selection of beers and ciders available at the bar, the stripped- back acoustic evening was a thriving and inviting atmosphere- an excellent start to the weekend.
Join us next week for a performace from Leila's Dream, here at the South City bar. Alternatively, if you would like to rent out our venue for your own gig, contact us via the website!
